Netflix really have an itch for the star-studded action thriller, and they’ve just scratched it again by adding to a browsing menu that will contain Red Notice, Extraction, and The Old Guard by acquiring the David Leitch directed Will Smith vehicle Fast & Loose.
According to Deadline the streaming giants won a fierce bidding war to get hold of the worldwide distribution rights from STX Films.
Fast & Loose follows the story of a man who wakes up in Tijuana after being left for dead with absolutely no memory. As he follows a string of clues to uncover his identity, he discovers that he’s been living two different lives: one, as a super-successful crime kingpin, surrounded by beautiful women and expensive toys; and the other as an undercover CIA agent, but with a puny salary, no family or home life whatsoever and zero trappings of success. The problem is, he can’t remember which of these two personas is his true identity.
Leitch, whose notable action credits include John Wick and Atomic Blonde, is currently directing Bullet Train, which stars Brad Pitt, Joey King, Andrew Koji, Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Michael Shannon, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka, Brian Tyree Henry, Lady Gaga, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Sandra Bullock, while next up for Smith is tennis biopic King Richard [watch the new trailer here].
