After Fox cancelled the fan-favourite TV show Lucifer, Netflix saved the series with a 10-episode fourth season. Now, with the show’s upcoming fifth and final season, the streaming service has ordered six additional episodes from 10-16 for the showrunners to finish off the story they want to tell.
Although, this raise is nothing new for Lucifer as the first season only featured 13 episodes in season one to 18 episodes in season two, then 26 episodes in season 3. Let’s hope this fantastic show receives a fitting and satisfying end after these final 16 episodes.
Based loosely off the comics by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg, the series follows Lucifer Morningstar aka the Devil (Tom Ellis), who abandons Hell for a vacation in Los Angeles where he opens up his own nightclub and solves crimes for the LAPD alongside Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German). The show also features Kevin Alejandro as Detective Daniel “Dan” Espinoza, D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel, Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen, and Rachael Harris as Dr. Linda Martin.
You can catch-up on the first three seasons on Amazon Prime Video and the fourth season on Netflix. What are your thoughts on the six additional hours for the final season? Or your thoughts on the series as a whole? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
