Netflix has added to its upcoming slate of movies by snapping up the rights to The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected), the new film from director Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha, Mistress America), which stars Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman, Elizabeth Marvel, Grace Van Patten and Emma Thompson.
“Noah Baumbach is an important voice in American filmmaking and his films are always highly anticipated around the world. Noah is among the filmmakers that we were eager to work with, and I know that film enthusiasts everywhere will be as moved by this film as we were,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer. “We’re thrilled to be the avenue by which global audiences will be able to see the film.”
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) is described as “an intergenerational tale of adult siblings contending with the influence of their aging father.” It is set to premiere in U.S. theaters and on Netflix later in the year.
