A week on from its premiere on the streaming service, Netflix has announced that it has granted a season two renewal to Devil May Cry, the animated series adaptation of the beloved Capcom video game franchise.
Produced by Adi Shankar (Castlevania), Devil May Cry debuted at #4 in Netflix’s global top ten list last week with 5.3 million views in its first three days, and reached the top 10 in 87 individual countries. It’s also been a hit with critics, boasting a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes (although its audience score is lower at 63% at the time of writing).
Launching in 2001 with the first entry in the video game series, Devil May Cry follows an orphaned demon hunter called Dante, voiced in the animated series by Johnny Yong Bosch. He’s joined in the voice cast Scout Taylor-Compton, Hoon Lee, Chris Coppola, and the late Kevin Conroy.
The first season of Devil May Cry is streaming now on Netflix.
