Netflix revives Blockbuster with first look at new workplace comedy series

August 28, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Having been one of the major factors in the demise of the video store chain (and video stores in general), Netflix is rather cheekily reviving Blockbuster for a new workplace comedy series centring on the last Blockbuster in the United States.

Check out the first look images for the series, which features a cast that includes Randall Park, Melissa Fumero, Olga Merediz, Kamaia Fairburn  J.B. Smoove, Madeleine Arthur, and Tyler Alvarez…

Timmy Yoon (Randall Park) Is an analog dreamer living in a 5G world. And after learning he is operating the last Blockbuster Video in America, Timmy and his staff employees (including his long time crush, Eliza (Melissa Fumero) fight to stay relevant. The only way to succeed is to remind their community that they provide something big corporations can’t: human connection.

Blockbuster premieres on Netflix on November 3rd.
