Since its release on Netflix, 13 Reasons Why has garnered some significant success for the streaming service, raising the possibility of a second season. There is no official word on a renewal yet, but Deadline has heard that an announcement may soon be forthcoming.
13 Reasons Why has generated a lot of positive buzz, especially over social media and there has been some talk of whether or not the series would gain, or even need, a second season. Where Asher’s novel closed the door on the characters and plot, the series has left it open to follow some other characters and storylines in the aftermath of Hannah Baker’s suicide. Season 2 could potentially follow the larger, and legal, consequences of her suicide as Clay and the various people involved in Hannah’s life come to terms with their culpability in her death.
