Shawn Levy, the executive producer of Netflix’s Shadow and Bone series, has provided an update on the upcoming second season of the small screen adaptation of Leigh Bardugo’s ‘Grishaverse‘ fantasy book series.
In an interview with Collider to promote Free Guy, Levy confirmed that the scripts for the second season of Shadow and Bone have all been written and the series will be heading into production shortly.
“Scripts written, heading into production shortly, in great shape, very much favorable to the characters in the world that we built and the Grishaverse that was put on screen in Season 1. But building out from there. Eric Heisserer still at the helm as creator, showrunner and getting kind of dangerously close to heading into production.”
In a world cleaved in two by a massive barrier of perpetual darkness, where unnatural creatures feast on human flesh, a young soldier uncovers a power that might finally unite her country. But as she struggles to hone her power, dangerous forces plot against her. Thugs, thieves, assassins and saints are at war now, and it will take more than magic to survive.
Jessie Mei Li (Alina Starkov), Archie Renaux (Malyen Oretsev), Freddy Carter (Kaz Brekker), Amita Suman (Inej), Kit Young (Jesper Fahey), Ben Barnes (General Kirigan), Danielle Galligan (Nina Zenik) and Calahan Skogman (Matthias Helvar) are all set to reprise their roles in the second season.
The first season of Shadow and Bone is available to stream now on Netflix.
