It’s time to take a journey into Norse mythology as Netmarble announce the release of their new free to play RPG Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie on Android and iOS devices. Inspired by the mythology of the Nordic folk, The Last Valkyrie will see players take on the Viking gods throughout the land of Midgard. To celebrate the launch of this latest title, Netmarble have joined up with music producer Kurt Hugo Schneider and solo recording artist Macy Kate to create a music video of the game’s theme song. You can watch this, and the game’s theme composed by violinist Taylor Davis below…
In Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie, players take the role of courageous, young Valkyrie Astrid, who is on a quest to save her mum from Odin. Astrid will need to travel throughout the realm of Midgard purifying enemy monsters known as Phantoms which can then be used to help her reach her mum. There are over 300 unique Phantoms for players to defeat, fight and collect throughout her journey and these can be evolved to accomplish specific tasks.
The Last Valkyrie blends side scrolling adventure with classic turn based RPG combat and real time PvP through beautifully designed platform levels and deviously designed puzzles.
The game features:
- Turn based combat buffs and debuffs including attack increases, defense decreases and more.
- Real time PVP System delivers intense combat between players.
- Phantom evolution system – Players will be able to evolve their Phantoms with specific items that can alternate how their Phantom looks, behaves and uses their abilities.
“As an all-new IP, the Phantomgate team aimed to provide players an enjoyable story with relatable characters enhanced by some of the best in-game graphics found on mobile devices along with the deep gameplay mechanics fans are used to seeing in Netmarble games. We’re excited to bring Astrid’s journey to life and look forward to supporting her – and the player’s journey – with future updates to the game,” said Jung-ho Lee, Division Director of Netmarble.
Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie is available now on Android and iOS devices.
