IT’S ALL CONNECTED
It may still be keeping the Avengers: Infinity War footage under wraps, but Marvel has decided to officially release its Comic-Con triptych poster for the hotly-anticipated superhero epic, which sees Thanos and his Black Order alongside The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. When he was announced as director of Thor: Ragnarok, many wondered how Taikia Waititi would work in the MCU given his back catalogue includes What We Do in The Shadows and Flight of the Conchords. Marvel Studios have been accused of hampering young directors of putting their own stamp on their projects, but Waititi has said that most of Thor: Ragnarok is in-line with his previous outings. “I would say we improvised maybe 80% of the film, or ad-libbed,” he said. Over the weekend at San Diego Comic Con, Warner Bros. announced that the upcoming Flash movie would be an adaptation of the very popular Flashpoint story, which saw The Scarlet Speedster wake up in a world where he has now powers, Wonder Woman and Aquaman control half of the world each, there’s no Superman, and Thomas Wayne is Batman. So could we see Jeffrey Dean Morgan reprise his role of Thomas Wayne for Flashpoint? Well, the actor has been teasing it on both Twitter and Instagram. Check it out here.
With a little over a week to go until The Dark Tower arrives in cinemas, Sony Pictures has released a new promo for the upcoming fantasy epic which details Easter eggs and references to other Stephen King stories within the film, including It, The Shining, The Shawshank Redemption, Cujo, Christine, Mr. Mercedes, and Misery. While at San Diego Comic Con promoting his Netflix movie Death Note, director Adam Wingard spoke about his plans for Godzilla vs. Kong and the size of each monster. “They gave us a good out in Kong when they mentioned that Kong is still growing, but that’ll be a challenge we have to deal with, and we’re very aware of that issue,” he said.
