Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Paramount are developing a prequel movie to Dracula. This time the film is being worked on by It director Andy Muschietti. Variety – who broke the story – describes the story as: “set in 1868, where a 21-year-old Bram Stoker meets with an evil that he traps in an ancient tower.” Read more here.
The much-anticipated sequel to Pacific Rim – Pacific Rim: Uprising – could have its first trailer shown at New York Comic Con during a special panel on Friday, October 6th 2017. Director of the film Steven DeKnight and star John Boyega will be making appearances. Read more here.
Perhaps the least-liked thing about Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull – apart from the fridge being nuked, the aliens, the swinging monkeys, the awful dialogue, etc – was Shia LaBeouf’s Indy Jr. aka Mutt. Well, according to screenwriter David Koepp, Mutt won’t be coming back for Indy 5. “Harrison plays Indiana Jones, that I can certainly say… and the Shia LaBeouf character is not in the film,” said Koepp. Read more here.
According to The Hashtag Show – who don’t have the greatest track record of scoops – both WWE star John Cena (Daddy’s Home) and Joshua Sasse (Galavant) are “tentatively the front runners” for the role of Shazam, while a third “dark horse contender” has apparently fallen out of favour. Production is underway on Disney’s live-action version of Aladdin, with Will Smith posting a cast photo alongside his co-stars Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Princess Jasmine) and Marwan Kenzari (Jafar). Check it out here.
