Following its $35 million worldwide opening this past weekend – from a budget of just $4.9 million – New Line Cinema has given the go ahead to a sequel to the hit horror Lights Out.
Deadline is reporting that David F. Sandberg will return to helm the follow-up to his acclaimed directorial debut, which Flickering Myth’s Robert Kojder describes as “one of the scariest modern horror films of the decade” in his review [read it here].
Sandberg – who is currently shooting Annabelle 2 – will reunite with screenwriter Eric Heisserer on Lights Out 2, while James Wan will also be back to produce.
