Given that the first two instalments have grossed almost $640 million worldwide, you won’t be surprised to hear that New Line Cinema is officially moving forward with The Conjuring 3, hiring David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2) to pen the script.
According to Deadline, James Wan is expected to return to produce the third instalment, although it is unlikely that he’ll be in the director’s chair this time around. The logline for the threequel is being kept under wraps, but it’s said that it will explore another real-life case from paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.
The Conjuring 3 will be the seventh instalment of ‘The Conjuring Universe’, after the first two movies, and the spinoffs Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, The Nun and the recently announced The Crooked Man.
