Back in August of last year it was revealed that Lionsgate is in development on a live-action adaptation of Masashi Kishimoto hugely popular manga series Naruto, and appearing at the 2017 Jump Festa event in Japan, Kishimoto has announced that he will personally be involved with production on the film, which is being directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman).
During the event, a brand new anime series Boruto: Naruto Next Generations! was also announced as launching in Japan in April 2017; here’s the poster and trailer for the new show…
The Naruto manga launched in 1997 and was subsequently adapted into a TV series, which ran for 220 episodes between 2002 and 2007. It was followed by the sequel series, Naruto: Shippuden, which launched in 2007 and is currently onto its 21st season.
