Leslye Headland, the showrunner for a new Disney+ Star Wars show, has already expressed her love for the franchise.
It has been reported that Leslye Headland, showrunner for Russian Doll, is getting her own Disney+ Star Wars series and that it will be set in a new period of time in the galaxy.
But what do we know about Headland’s relationship with Star Wars? Well, at The Rise of Skywalker premiere last year, Variety asked her if she would like to work on a Star Wars movie and if she had any ideas:
“Oh, please. Please, queen Kathleen Kennedy. Oh yes. Oh my gosh, yeah. I think I’ve had ideas for Star Wars movies since I was thirteen years old? Maybe eight years old?
“I’m the type of Star Wars fan that doesn’t even have a favorite movie. I just want to live in the universe of Star Wars, continually, in perpetuity, forever. So when people are like ‘What’s your favorite Star Wars movie?’ I’m like ‘There is no Star Wars movie. There is only Star Wars.'”

It sounds like Headland has the perfect attitude for someone helming a Star Wars project, helping her to hopefully create something that takes inspiration and builds off all the different eras of Star Wars films and TV.
