Focus Entertainment and Saber Interactive have announced the release of the new Trygon update for their third-person action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. This latest update comes with a new PvE mission, new weapon, a wealth of quality-of-life improvements and much more. Watch the new trailer below to see what’s new with this latest free update.
The new PvE mission “Exfiltration” takes players back to the windswept Avarax for a new assignment – to eliminate the mighty Trygon. This beast of a creature excels at guerrilla tactics and is skilled in the ability to burrow below defensive lines and leap out to assault its prey. Exfiltration is free for all players and also provides the perfect opportunity to try out the update’s free new weapon, the Inferno Pistol. This weapon is a close ranged thermal weapon that is available to Assault, Sniper, Heavy and Vanguard classes.
Among the quality-of-life improvements is the introduction of Prestige Ranks and Prestige Rewards. These rework many of the weapon perks, the ability to change the colour of tabards and hoods regardless of which class of marine. There is also the arrival of the much-requested custom PvP lobbies, allowing players to enjoy fully customisable Eternal War games in groups of up to 12 players.
Alongside the free content, there are also two new DLCs for Season Pass owners. The Space Wolves Chapter Pack adds a new Champion skin for the Vanguard, three weapon skins for the Chainsword, Bolt Carbine and Thunder Hammer, and over 50 unique cosmetics and colours. Accompanying this is the Imperial Fists Champion Pack, with a Champion skin for the Tactical class and a unique Plasma Incinerator skin.
The Trygon update is available for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 now.
