Deadline is reporting that Nick Jonas (Scream Queens, Goat) is in final negotiations to join the cast of Sony Pictures’ Jumanji reboot, and is expected to close a deal should he be able to fit the schedule around his music commitments.
The “reimagining” of the 1995 Robin Williams vehicle is being directed by Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape), and will reunite Central Intelligence duo Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, while Jack Black (Goosebumps) is also attached to star. It is based upon Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 children’s adventure book and has been scripted by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker, who have rewritten a draft from original writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Jumanji is set for release on July 28th, 2017.
