Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in Army of One, an upcoming satire from director Larry Charles (Borat, The Dictator), which is based upon the true story of a regular Joe who embarked on a hunt for the notorious Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
THR reports that the project is loosely based upon a GQ article about Gary Faulkner, “a Colorado construction worker who took it upon himself to find Bin Laden, including trying to sneak into Pakistan and Afghanistan numerous times.”
Army of One is set to shoot in March, with The Weinstein Company hoping to have the film ready for release later in the year.
