Deadline is reporting that Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in the post-apocalyptic action thriller Prisoners of the Ghostland, which will mark the English-language debut of Japanese filmmaker Sion Sono (Tag, Love Exposure).
The film has been written by Sono and Aaron Hendry, and will see Cage playing Hero, a notorious criminal “who is sent to rescue an abducted girl who has disappeared into a dark supernatural universe. They must break the evil curse that binds them and escape the mysterious revenants that rule the Ghostland, an East-meets-West vortex of beauty and violence.”
