Ninjala’s ninth developer diary announces Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration event, featured battles and more

September 10, 2020 by Andrew Newton

GungHo Online Entertainment have released the latest developer diary for Ninjala.  This latest developer video announces a start date of 23rd September for their upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog collaboration as well as introducing the new Featured Battle game mode.  You can watch Ninjala game designer Morishita, and director Kaneda introduce the new additions to the game in the developer diary below…

The Sonic the Hedgehog collaboration event begins on 23rd September and runs until 21st October and will be able to kit out their ninja with a number of Sonic themed items.  These items include:

  • Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles avatar outfits.
  • Sonic and Dr. Eggman IPPON decorations.
  • A Dr. Eggman Gum Utsusemi transformation.

All these items can be gained from the in-game shop using Ninjala’s in-game currency, Jala.

Arriving in early October is the new game mode Featured Battle which will provide a series of limited time event battles.  Making its debut as the game’s very first limited time featured Battle is Beast Attack, an  extreme ninja version of tag where eight players enter the arena and some are randomly chosen to become the ‘Beast.’  The Beast must hunt down other players as quickly as possible to regain their ninja form.  The longer the others avoid him, the more points they gain but those who are too slow will then become a Beast and the process will continue.

There’s extra points for those players bold enough to taunt beasts with in-game emotes but don’t hang around for too long.

Get ready for these new events starting 23rd September.
