Since its announcement, everyone assumed that Noomi Rapace would return for Prometheus 2, which was re-titled to Alien: Paradise Lost and then to Alien: Covenant. But according to its director Ridley Scott, Rapace won’t be along for another outing.
“No,” Scott answered when asked if Rapace was coming back. “We’re still casting the main roles.”
This differs from an officially released statement from 20th Century Fox that stated Rapace would be reprising her role of Elizabth Shaw alongside Michael Fassbender and newcomer Katherine Waterson.
Scott has announced there are two more sequels in the works for Prometheus after Alien: Covenant, so there is a chance for her character to return in another outing. However when asked for a comment on Prometheus and its sequels, Rapace told Red Carpet TV News, “I have no comment on that yet.”
Sounds like more trouble is afoot for Scott’s Alien: Covenant than meets the eye.
