Lionsgate has tapped up and coming screenwriters Neil Widener and Gavin James to pen the script for Now You See Me 3, Deadline is reporting. The duo have recently signed on to write another sequel, San Andreas 2, having sold Battle of Alcatraz to Paramount.
The third instalment of the Now You See Me franchise will reportedly see the return of the majority of the cast, while Now You See Me 2 helmer Jon M. Chu is also back to direct. A Chinese spinoff movie is also in the works, which will be shot in China with a mostly Chinese cast.
Now You See Me was released in 2013 and starred Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco as The Four Horsemen, stage magicians who use their performances to pull of heists. It grossed over $350 million around the world, while this year’s sequel also amassed a healthy $335 million.
