Netflix has released a trailer and images for Painkiller, the limited drama series from director Peter Berg.
Based on Barry Meier’s book of the same name and the New Yorker article ‘The Family That Built an Empire of Pain’ by Patrick Radden Keefe, the series is a fictionalised retelling of the opioid epidemic in the US, following the stories of the perpetrators, victims and truth-seekers of the those whose lives were impacted by the invention OxyContin.
