Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures has snapped up the rights to the graphic novel The Pro from Garth Ennis, Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti, tapping Zoe McCarthy (Bitches on a Boat) to pen the screenplay for a big screen adaptation.
First published in 2002 by Image Comics, the superhero parody follows a prostitute who wakes up one day with superhero powers and is asked to join the League of Honor to help curb her anti-heroic behaviour.
Garth Ennis is currently serving as a producer on AMC’s comic book adaptation Preacher, while Palmiotti’s Painkiller Jane is also in development as a movie, with Jessica Chastain attached to star and produce.
