Patti LuPone is the gift that keeps giving regarding any details about the hotly-anticipated series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
It seems like the legendary actress is the only one promoting the upcoming series while also dishing about the ever-present Marvel security. In a recent interview, LuPone spoke about the forthcoming Disney+ series, dealing with the spoiler-filled world of Marvel, and offered a tease at how much chaos we are getting.
During an episode of the Little Gold Men podcast, LuPone breaks down what it’s like dealing with Marvel’s spoiler-focused security.
“Well, I got in trouble. Marvel security said,’ Patti! No more talking.’ They were nice about it because they saw how enthusiastic I am about it. What are they are gonna say? I know they want to keep it under wraps. But they didn’t yell at me. Or, he didn’t yell at me. He had a big smile on his face. And I said, ‘Well, what do I say then?’ And he said, ‘You can say that security asked you not to say anything.'”
Even though she got these strict instructions after dishing about the show before, eagle-eyed fans still spotted her reference to the number of scripts she received, giving a clue about the series’ length. About the WGA Strike, LuPone notes, “All nine scripts were written before we started filming.”
With nine episodes reportedly happening, this places Agatha: Coven of Chaos at the most episodes for a Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series, alongside its predecessor WandaVision and last year’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Though, this could point the series being nine episodes with half-hour shows as opposed to the six-episode series (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight) with longer lengths.
No matter the runtime or the number of episodes, fans are still eagerly awaiting more from the witchy WandaVision universe and more from Agatha and her Coven of Chaos.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos stars Kathryn Hahn returning as the titular Agatha Harkness, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, Patti LuPone, and Sasheer Zamata. The supporting cast includes David Payton, David Lengel, Asif Ali, Amos Glick, Brian Brightman, Kate Forbes, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Maria Dizzia.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to premiere on Disney+ later this year. The series is being showrun by Jac Schaeffer, serving as head writer and executive producer.
