Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War follow…
While Avengers: Infinity War delivered a number of deaths, poor old Vision actually died twice – first at the hands of his lover Scarlet Witch, before being resurrected by Thanos and the Time Stone, only for the Mad Titan to kill him once again as he ripped the Mind Stone from his forehead.
Speaking to GQ to promote the release of his latest movie Solo: A Star Wars Story, actor Paul Bettany was asked which of the two deaths was his favourite:
“Ooooh, I don’t know,” replied Bettany. “I think that being murdered by the love of your life [Scarlet Witch] because you’re asking them to is pretty moving stuff that they wrote for us.”
Although Vision wasn’t one of the causalities of Thanos’ snap (all of whom are expected to return when the damage is reversed), there have been rumours that the android will be back in Avengers 4. Bettany did share several photos from the set of the untitled sequel (including one of him still in possession of the Mind Stone), but it’s possible that these were from the Infinity War portion of the shoot, deliberate misdirects, or part of the theorised time travel / alternative universe storyline.
