The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal can currently be seen in Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Wonder Woman 1984 as the villainous businessman Maxwell Lord, but this isn’t the actor’s first brush with the DC universe, or Wonder Woman for that matter.
Pascal was previously cast in the role of LAPD Detective Ed Indelicato alongside Adrianne Palicki’s Amazon Princess in NBC’s failed Wonder Woman pilot from David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies), which was shot back in 2011 but ultimately failed to make it to series. You can check out a clip of him in action here…
OTHER: TIL that Pedro Pascal was cast in an unaired Wonder Woman (2011) tv show produced by WBTV and DC entertainment for NBC.

Speaking to Variety recently to promote Wonder Woman 1984, Pascal reflected on his experience on the pilot, describing his casting as “a dream come true” at that stage in his fledgling career.
“David E. Kelley’s influence on television when I was freshly out of college was so huge, and I watched every episode of Friday Night Lights. I also thought that whether it was good or not, it would definitely get picked up. So that would change my financial situation significantly, even if it was half a season before it got cancelled. But it didn’t even get picked up. I went back to procedurals, you know, ‘CSI’ and such. Had a pretty bad year after that interest in terms of very sporadic work.”

NBC ultimately passed on the series, and Pascal would have to wait a few more years before his breakout roles in Game of Thrones and Narcos.
Wonder Woman 1984 reunites Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins with stars Gal Gadot (Diana Prince), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta), Robin Wright (General Antiope) and new additions Kristen Wiig (Ghostbusters) as Barbara Ann Minerva/Cheetah and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as Maxwell Lord.
