The Tracking Board is reporting that Starz is set to adapt the UK sitcom Peep Show for U.S. audiences, with the network tapping Eli Jorne (Son of Zorn, Blunt Talk) to write and executive produce a U.S. remake of the show.
“We are hugely relieved to hand over the responsibility of coming up with the dark and twisted thoughts of two terrible men to the extremely funny, dark and twisted Eli Jorne,” said Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong, creators of the original show, and consulting producers on the U.S. version.
Both Fox and Spike have previously attempted to adapt the show, which stars David Mitchell and Robert Webb as two dysfunctional flatmates, the socially awkward Mark, and juvenile slacker Jez. The show has won numerous awards, including BAFTAs for Best Situation Comedy and Best Comedy Performance (Mitchell).
