Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi is the latest addition to the expanding cast of the upcoming DC film, The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, with Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson in talks to appear in a small cameo. According to Deadline, there are currently no details on the roles for both Capaldi or Davidson.
Capaldi is best known for his role as the Doctor in Doctor Who between 2013-2017. His other credits include The Thick of It, Torchwood, BBC’s The Musketeers, and World War Z.
The actor will join the returning cast members Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) and Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), while new additions include David Dastmalchian (Ant-Man) as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior (Valor da Vida) as Ratcatcher, Steve Agee (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) as King Shark and Idris Elba (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), John Cena (Bumblebee), Nathan Fillion (Firefly), Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows), and Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
