A new actor has been added to the cast of Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection with Game of Thrones alum Peter Dinklage the latest to join the show in a series regular, likely as the season’s villain.
Dinklage will play Leon Prater, “a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue.” This is the character who Uma Thurman, who was announced as part of the cast last month, works for as Charley, Leon’s Head of Security.
Dexter: Resurrection is a follow-up to the 2021 miniseries Dexter: New Blood, and sees Michael C. Hall back once more as serial killer Dexter Morgan alongside fellow returnees David Zayas (Detective Angel Batista), James Remar (Harry Morgan) and Jack Alcott (Harrison Morgan). The new series enters productions hot on the heels of the premiere of the 90s-set prequel Dexter: Original Sin, which became Showtime’s most-streamed launch ever last month.
Production on Dexter: Resurrection is underway in New York. In the meantime as we wait for further news on the series the prequel Dexter: Original Sin will air its season finale this Friday on Paramount+ before airing on Showtime on Sunday night.
Dinklage most recently lent his voice to Wicked and starred in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Snakes & Songbirds. He also starred opposite Josh Brolin in the comedy Brothers and will be seen next in Lear Rex and The Toxic Avenger.
