Deadline has revealed that Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), Whitney Peak (Gossip Girl) and Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Day One) are set to star in an untitled thriller for Sony Pictures.
The thriller will be written and directed by Tommy Wirkola (Violent Night) with Adam McKay and Kevin Messick producing through Hyperobject Industries.
Plot details are unknown but the project is described as a shark thriller so we will presumably see the trio up against the aquatic predators out in the ocean.
Dynevor is most known for her role as Daphne Bridgerton in the first season of Bridgerton and will be seen next in the espionage thriller Inheritance, while Peak has starred in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, the Max reboot of Gossip Girl and Disney+’s Hocus Pocus 2.
Hounsou meanwhile has had a long career in film with many high profile directors and casts, most notably Gladiator, Blood Diamond, The Island and Guardians of the Galaxy. Earlier this year he starred in Zack Snyder’s two-part Rebel Moon which will release its R-rated extended director’s cuts next week.
Production on the film will begin this summer in Australia.
