Phoebe Waller-Bridge in talks to join Han Solo film

February 9, 2017 by Ricky Church

We might be able to add another name to the growing cast of the Han Solo Star Wars spin off film. Variety is reporting Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge has begun talks to join everyone’s favourite smuggler in his solo flick.

The role would be a CGI motion capture performance, much like Lupita Nyong’o’s Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Force Awakens or Alan Tudyk’s K2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. They also mentioned her role would be a “significant part” of the film, probably similar to how Tudyk was utilized in Rogue One.

Starring Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!) in the leading role as the famous smuggler, the film is directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord. It also stars Donald Glover (Atlanta) as Lando Calrissian, Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke in an unrevealed role, and Woody Harrelson as Han Solo’s mentor.
