The Guardian is reporting thatPhoebe Waller-Bridge has been brought in to work on the script for Bond 25, with 007 himself Daniel Craig reportedly requesting the Fleabag creator to help “polish” the script with more humour and her offbeat writing style.
Bond 25 was originally written by 007 veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, although their screenplay was jettisoned when Danny Boyle and his frequent collaborator John Hodge boarded the project. Purvis and Wade’s screenplay was revived following Boyle’s departure, with new director Cary Joji Fukunaga then bringing on Scott Z. Burns (The Bourne Ultimatum) for rewrites.
Waller-Bridge will presumably be working fast, as Bond 25 is set to begin its main shoot at the end of the month, with some early filming having already taken place in Norway a few weeks ago, which gave us a look at a mysterious masked villain.
Bond 25 is set for release on April 8th 2020 and sees Daniel Craig back as James Bond alongside Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann. Further casting is yet to be confirmed, although Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Billy Magnussen (Maniac) have both been linked to roles.
