THR is reporting that Brad Pitt’s Plan B has snapped up the film rights to M.T. Anderson’s new young adult sci-fi novel Landscape With Invisible Hand and will partner with Annapurna on a big screen adaptation.
Told through a series of short vignettes, Landscape With Invisible Hand “takes place on Earth after an alien species, the “Vuvv,” has taken over with labor-saving technology that causes the planet’s job market to collapse. A teen and his girlfriend make money by broadcasting their dating life to the fascinated aliens. Unfortunately, things go badly when, in the course of time, the two teens come to hate each other but can’t break up without bankrupting their families.”
Landscape With Invisible Hand continues Plan B’s three-year production deal with Annapurna, with the two companies currently collaborating on Adam McKay’s Dick Cheney biopic.
