PUBG Corporation has announced that Update 5.2 for the PC version of Player Unknown Battlegrounds is now live and brings with it some new changes and additions to make Season 5 a season never to forget. Check out the update video below for more details.
A new piece of equipment is available for players to stop any opponent trying to run them down in a vehicle. The Spike Trap (or Stinger as UK police call it) is a long strip of spikes designed to stop a single vehicle in its tracks by puncturing the tyres. Spike Traps will spawn randomly across all maps and are single use only items that can be used to stop a pursuing vehicle, once deployed they cannot be picked up again even if the pursuing car managed to avoid them. A car hitting these spikes will only have their tyres punctured, it will not do any damage to the vehicle itself.
The update will also affect the snowy slopes of Vikendi with changes being made to make the map more appealing to snipers. There’s also been the following changes and additions:
- Addition of new roads to help travel the map’s snowy wastes.
- Amount of vehicles available increased.
- The river around Castle has frozen.
- Decreased height of Mount Kreznic.
- Town of Volnova has been reshaped.
- Town of Peshkova sees an increase in item spawn counts.
- Vehicle spawing garages in Trevno have been relocated.
The tacticians among you will also be able to plan a course using the new Map Waypoint system. When the map is open players can place up to four waypoints for their team to follow.
There’s much more to this update, including a new PUBG Labs feature. Read about this and get more info on the other changes in the patch notes here.
