R.I.P. Anton Yelchin (1989 – 2016)

June 19, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Some very sad news to report this evening, with news coming out of Hollywood that actor Anton Yelchin has passed away aged just 27 after a car accident. TMZ is reporting that the Star Trek star was found pinned between his car and his mail box at his home in Los Angeles, in what is said to be a freak accident.

Born in Leningrad, Soviet Union in 1989 and moving to the United States when he was six months old, Yelchin began his career at the age of 9 in the independent film A Man is Mostly Water, and went on to appear in a host of films such as Alpha Dog, Terminator Salvation, Fright Night, Odd Thomas, Burying the Ex and Green Room. He also portrayed Pavel Chekov in 2009’s Star Trek reboot and its 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness, along with the upcoming Star Trek Beyond.

On behalf of everyone here at Flickering Myth, we’d like to pass on our condolences to Anton’s family and friends at this very tragic time.
