Some very sad news to report this evening, as it has been announced that Lance Reddick has passed away aged 60, with TMZ revealing that that American actor was found dead at his home in Los Angeles earlier this morning. It is believed the cause of death is natural causes.
Reddick – who was on the press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4, which is scheduled to open a week today – began his career in the 1990s and appeared in several film and TV productions including Oz and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit before his big breakthrough in 2002 when he was cast as Cedric Daniels in HBO’s The Wire.
Following The Wire, Reddick would go on to appear in a host of high profile TV shows including Lost, Fringe, American Horror Story, The Blacklist, Bosch, Resident Evil, and the upcoming Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which will release posthumously in 2024 on Disney+.
On the big screen, Reddick’s credits include films such as Jonah Hex, White House Down, Oldboy, The Guest, Angel Has Fallen, One Night in Miami and Godzilla vs. Kong. He is however perhaps best known to audiences for his role as Charon in the John Wick films. Along with Chapter 4, the actor is believed to had already completed filming on the John Wick spinoff Ballerina, along with the upcoming White Men Can’t Jump remake.
