R.I.P. Terry Pratchett (1948 – 2015)

March 12, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Some very sad news this afternoon, with beloved British author Sir Terry Pratchett having passed away aged 66 after an eight-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

The announcement was made with a series of scheduled tweets on Twitter, which read: “At last, Sir Terry, we must walk together. Terry took Death’s arm and followed him through the doors and on to the black desert under the endless night. The end.” This was followed by an official statement from publishers Random House announcing that the author has died.

The creator of the Discworld fantasy series, the prolific Pratchett was the UK’s bestselling author during the 1990s and has sold over 85 million books around the world since the release of his first novel The Carpet People in 1971.

Rest in peace, Mr. Pratchett, and thank you.
