Rachel Brosnahan is going the old-school Hollywood route and campaigning for a shot at James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy.
Any actress would like to be involved in the high-profile and hotly-anticipated, especially for the role of Lois Lane, and Brosnahan has addressed the casting rumors head-on.
These days, most won’t address a report like we brought last week, breaking down The Hollywood Reporter’s scoop on the casting shortlist for Superman: Legacy. But the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star made her intentions clear after a reported great audition and told The View that the Lois Lane gig “would be extraordinary.”
“I mean, look, take everything you read on the internet with a grain of salt is my first piece of advice,” Brosnahan tells the host of The View.
She continues, “Look, it would be extraordinary. I grew up watching Lois Lane, this incredibly talented journalist, far from a damsel in distress, and I would jump at the chance if it arose.”

The official synopsis states Superman: Legacy “tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”
Superman: Legacy is scheduled to open in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
