Filmmaking troupe Radio Silence have revealed that a sequel to their 2019 horror-hit Ready or Not is currently “getting figured out” and that the “script that is an absolute fucking banger”.
The creative team, which is comprised of directors Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, along with their producer partner Chad Villella, were doing the rounds for their next slice of housebound-horror, the vampire flick Abigail, when they gave Entertainment Weekly an update on Ready or Not 2.
“It’s getting figured out,” said Gillet, “That’s what we’ll say: Ready or Not 2 is getting figured out. What we can say is that there is a script that is an absolute fucking banger of a sequel. And however it gets made, and in whatever capacity we are helping get it made, we are so excited that it’s happening. That movie is truly the love of our creative lives in a lot of ways.”
This news comes in the wake of rumours that Insidious: The Last Key (2018) and Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021) director Adam Robitel had been tasked with helming the sequel, and that Samara Weaving was set to reprise her breakout role as Grace Le Domas.
Ready or Not followed the young bride (Samara Weaving) joining her new husband’s (Mark O’Brien) rich, eccentric family (Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, Andie MacDowell) in a time-honored tradition that turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.
