Rampage director teams with Lucifer showrunner for Skyward comic book adaptation

July 7, 2018 by Amie Cranswick

Variety is reporting that Joe Henderson and Lee Garbett’s Skyward is the latest Image Comics title heading to the screen, with Sony Pictures snapping up the rights to the sci-fi project and setting Brad Peyton (Rampage) to direct.

Skyward “is set in a world where gravity suddenly becomes a fraction of what it is now. Twenty years later, humanity has adapted to its new low-gravity reality. The movie will follow a woman born just after G-Day who has become accustomed to it, but has come across a dangerous plan to bring gravity back.”

Joe Henderson is penning the script for the feature adaptation, while Peyton will also produce alongside Lucifer showrunner Jeff Fierson through their ASAP Entertainment production banner.

“Jeff and I are focused on making event films — regardless of budget or scope,” states Peyton. “Skyward is a big one. We’re very excited to deliver on what an anti-gravity movie should deliver on and be working with Joe Henderson on this.”
