Sony’s long-gestating CG-animated Popeye movie may have lost its director last year in Genndy Tartakovsky, but the studio is still pressing ahead with its plans to bring the spinach-eating sailor man to the big screen, hiring T.J. Fixman to pen the screenplay for what is said to be a priority project for Sony Animation.
Fixman was instrumental in the creation of the Ratchet & Clank video game franchise, leading story development for the series whilst working at Insomniac Games. He has written the screenplay for the upcoming animated feature film adaptation and has several other scripts circulating Hollywood, including a Gargoyles movie for Disney.
