It’s the eve of the Oscar nominations, which means it’s time for the reveal of this year’s contenders for the Golden Raspberry Awards, a.k.a. The Razzies – a celebration of all that’s awful in cinema from the past twelve months.
Leading the pack for nominations this year is Netflix’s controversial Marilyn Monroe film Blonde, and while Ana de Armas was saved from the Worst Actress category, the film picked up eight nominations in total including Worst Director (Andrew Dominik), Worst Screenplay (Dominik) and Worst Picture.
Alongside Blonde, the Worst Picture Razzie will be contested by Disney’s Pinocchio, the Machine Gun Kelly stoner comedy Good Mourning, long-delayed mermaid stinker The King’s Daughter, and Jared Leto’s superhero flop Morbius.
UPDATE: After drawing controversy over the decision to nominate 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Razzies founder John Wilson issued an apology, removing the young actress from the ballot and confirming that no under-18s would be considered for future awards.
