Ready or Not and Scream 5 directors Radio Silence set to helm high school horror film Reunion

With production on the next instalment of the Scream franchise having recently wrapped, the filmmaking group Radio Silence – which consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella – have set their sights on their next horror project.

According to Deadline, Radio Silence are moving forward with a new high school horror film for MGM, which is titled Reunion. The outlet is also reporting that Reunion will be directed and produced by Bettinelli-Olpin, Gillett and Villella from a screenplay by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, who also wrote Ready or Not for the filmmaking team.

The outlet describes the new film as being the “horrific experience of high school reunions is taken to a new extreme when a group of uninspired old friends become the only hope for survival against an unwelcome shape-shifting creature.”

Reunion will also be produced by Project X Entertainment’s William Sherak, James Vanderbilt, and Paul Neinstein (Radio Silence’s Scream) and Vinson Films’ Tripp Vinson (Ready or Not, The Exorcism of Emily Rose). Tara Farney will executive produce for Vinson Films.

Scream is being directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man) and Guy Busick (Ready or Not, Castle Rock). The cast includes the returning Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and Marley Shelton as Deputy Judy Hicks alongside franchise newcomers Jenna Ortega (You, Jane the Virgin), Melissa Barrera (In the Heights), Jack Quaid (The Boys), Dylan Minnette (13 Reasons Why), Mason Gooding (Love, Victor), Mikey Madison (Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood), Kyle Gallner (Ghosts of War), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), and newcomer Sonia Ammar.
