After her stellar break-out performance in this summer’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, actress Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to star in The Girl On the Train, reports Deadline.
Tate Taylor (The Help) is directing the film based on the novel by Paula Hawkins, and Ferguson will take on one of three main female roles in the film, with one of the roles already secured by Emily Blunt (Into The Woods). Blunt plays a “recent divorcee who narrates the tale and spends her daily commute fantasizing about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day. One morning, she sees something shocking happen there and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.”
With this news, the site also suggests that Ferguson has bowed out of the running for the female lead in the Channing Tatum-starring comic book adaptation Gambit in favour of this film.
