Red Sonja reboot gets new screenwriter

February 27, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Back in 2008, director Robert Rodriguez had plans for a remake of 80s actioner Red Sonja. The project, which was to star his then-girlfriend Rose McGowan (Planet Terror), was announced at Comic Con and Rodriguez even went so far as to release a teaser poster with McGowan, before the project fell apart.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Sonja won’t die, and has been resuscitated over at Nu Image and Millennium Films, who have reportedly set screenwriter Christopher Cosmos to pen the latest version of the script. Cosmos sold his first screenplay, The Fall, in 2012. While no director or actors have been linked, it’s safe to say that the studio believe the film has legs and look set to get the ball rolling very soon.

Do you think a remake of Red Sonja is a good idea? Who do you think could play the title role? As always, eave us your thoughts in the comment section below!
