Renee Zellweger to headline Netflix anthology series What/If

Following in the footsteps of her Oscar winning peers Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies), Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies), and Emma Stone (Maniac), Renee Zellweger is heading to the small-screen to headline the Netflix drama What/If.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the anthology series, which will have Revenge creator Mike Kelly as showrunner, as well as Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke as exec producers, will run for 10 episodes, and is described as a social thriller that explores the ripple effect of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things. Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life.

The only information released about Zellweger’s character is that she will be called Anne. Plot details are sketchy, but THR sources reveal that it may focus on newlyweds.

Zellweger can be seen next in Judy Garland biopic Judy, which should hit screens sometime next year.
