Resident Evil: The Final Chapter cast and plot synopsis revealed

September 19, 2015 by Justin Cook

The full cast and plot synopsis for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, the upcoming sixth and final Resident Evil film, has been announced by Sony Pictures’ Screen Gems. Additionally, principal photography has commenced in Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa.

Milla Jovovich, who has starred in each of the previous films, is returning to the role of Alice, and will be joined by a cast that includes Ali Larter (Obsessed, Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Claire Redfield, Ian Glen (Game of Thrones, Resident Evil: Extinction) as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, Shawn Roberts (X-Men, Resident Evil: Afterlife) as Albert Wesker, Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black) as Abigail, Eoin Macken (Merlin) as Doc, William Levy (Addicted) as Christian, Fraser James (Law & Order: UK) as Michael and Rola, a Japanese model and TV personality, as Cobalt.

Read the official plot synopsis below…

Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.

Paul W.S. Anderson wrote and is helming The Final Chapter, which is slated to be released in the US in January 2017.

Based on the hugely popular Capcom video game franchise, the five previous Resident Evil films have grossed over $900 million worldwide on a combined budget of $250 million.
