There is a lot of mystery surrounding Rey. Who are her parents? Will she turn to The Dark Side in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Where did she learn to fly so well? At least we can all take solace in knowing that her name is, indeed, Rey. Well, that wasn’t always the case apparently.
Talking to V Magazine, the Star Wars actress reveals that her character had an entirely different name even while production had already started:
“No, no, he told me it was meant to be Keera. And then, when we were already shooting in Abu Dhabi, he told me that he was thinking of going with Rey, which I thought was frickin’ awesome. But because I had to audition so much and everything, I never really had a conversation with J.J. about it until I had read the script.”
