Rian Johnson moved the Knives Out (or Benoit Blanc) franchise to Netflix with intentions for multiple sequels, and now the filmmaker is starting the plan for his third film.
Following Knives Out and Glass Onion, Johnson returns to his wacky murder mystery again, but he explains to The Wrap that he’s still early in the writing process.
With the WGA Strike now over, Johnson tells the outlet that the third Benoit Blanc film is “coming along. I obviously couldn’t work during the strike, and now that it’s over, I’m diving in full force, and so it’s coming along.”
While the pen hasn’t been put to paper, the filmmaker knows what he wants from this entry. Adding, “I’ve got the premise, I’ve got the setting, I’ve got what the movie is in my head. It’s just a matter of writing the damn thing.”
Rumor also has it that the film will drop the Knives Out title and go by: “A Benoit Blanc Mystery.”
These movies are known for all-star casts that saw the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Chris Evans, Edward Norton, and many more joining Daniel Craig as the detective Benoit Blanc. Who can Johnson possibly add to the cast this time? Only time will tell, but fans eagerly await the film’s arrival.
