Richard Madden joins Taron Egerton in Elton John film Rocketman

Variety is reporting that former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden has signed on to the cast of the Elton John film Rocketman, where he’ll portray the music legend’s long time manager John Reid.

Rocketman is being directed by Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle) and sees Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) as John, along with Jamie Bell (Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool) as Bernie Taupin.

Since leaving Game of Thrones, Madden has dabbled in features with roles in Disney’s Cinderella and the crime drama Bastille Day. His recent TV credits include Netflix’s Medici: Masters of Florence and Amazon’s Electric Dreams.
